About Us

Sherry Hopkins ~ Midwife
Everyone’s journey through the miracle of pregnancy and birth is so unique; I offer support in an individual way to assist the woman and her partner in preparing and carrying out their plans for birth. I first became interested in midwifery through the process of planning the homebirth of our first baby in 1994. I believe women deserve to be educated and empowered, to trust the wisdom that is wound in their DNA, to ensure that the process of birth unfolds in a safe and sacred space. I have been a very fortunate mother to have stayed at home with my young children, even homeschooling them. As a parent I have always been drawn to Holistic health and healing. My extensive studies include BodyTalk (energy work), Hypnosis, Guided Meditation, Herbs, Aromatherapy, and Nutrition. We moved to Las Vegas, NV in 2005 where I started my journey to become a practicing homebirth Midwife. I became very involved with the established natural childbirth and parenting community and founded Well Rounded Momma. I became a DONA certified Doula, labor tub technician, and Childbirth Educator supporting over 200 families in the Las Vegas area. In addition I apprenticed with two Certified Professional Midwives and have completed my own paperwork with the North American Registry of Midwives. As a Midwife I enjoy helping families choosing to have a safe birth at home. I believe that knowledge is a powerful tool when brought to the journey that is birth; I have seen over and over again how wonderful birth is when you are prepared and aware of the choices that lie ahead. So whether you are just beginning your journey or are well along on the path I would be honored to walk beside you for a spell.

Tiffanie Gonzales ~ Assistant
I started on this journey a long time ago at the age of 16 when I attended my first birth.  After that I was so interested in birth and I love babies.  My journey has taken me through the births of my seven children, five daughters and two sons.  I was a stay at home mom until my youngest daughter started kindergarten, that was when I found myself home alone.  I had heard about Doulas and decided that was what I would like to do.  It actually took me another year before I attended my Dona training in Utah.  I attented my first birth as a doula a month after my training.  Then I met some really great women who started Well Rounded Momma and then my journey really took off.  I breastfed all of my children for over a year and loved every minute of breastfeeding.  That led me to take two courses to become a Lactation Educator and a Certified Lactation Counselor. I run Mommas Milk Circle at Well Rounded Momma every Tuesday and it has been such a blessing for me.  Supporting women in their choice to Breastfeed is so important to me giving support to women is one of the biggest things that I do.  The more births I attended the more I wanted to learn and do.  I got my Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and then decided that I really wanted to become a Midwife.  I went to Tennessee in June of 2009 and got my certification to be a Midwife Assistant, where I was taught by Ina May Gaskin and Pamela Hunt. It was an experience that just reaffirmed my trust in birth, the more births I attend the more I am in awe of the power of women.  I LOVE birth, it amazes me every time and I love seeing families become families.   I continue to learn and grow through great mentors and teachers.  I trust the birth process and I know that when women really educate themselves and explore their options, they can make the right decisions for their own journey.  I love being a mother, it has been the most difficult and rewarding job I have ever done.  My family supports me so much and I love when they are excited about the births I attend.  Its awesome to see my children learning and growing and realizing that birth is a natural and normal thing.  I have made lifelong friends and that is probably one of the best parts of this journey.  Changing the way we view birth and the process of birth will always be a continuing journey and a passion for me.  Supporting mothers in their choices and giving then all the help and support they need is so rewarding.  I love hearing mothers say to me “I did it”, its an amazing feeling and thing to see.
