Baby Sharrer's
When I discovered I was pregnant, for the fourth time, I knew I wanted to experience home birth, but didn't know where to start. Sherry was recommended by a good friend of mine, so I set up a consultation. I was unsure of what I was supposed to be looking for in a Midwife because I had only had Dr. attended hospital births. My husband and I went to the appointment and when we met with Sherry I knew instantly she was the one! I don't know if it was her kind smile or her soft and caring voice that triggered the immediate feeling of comfort. I started seeing Sherry in the very beginning of my pregnancy, I looked forward to seeing her every month to discuss my pregnancy and chit chat about what life had brung over the past weeks. The hot topic for my husband, Sherry and I was that I have very fast labor. Over the eight or nine months I saw Sherry, she always listened and trusted my feelings about my body. I had not only developed a wonderful relationship with my Midwife I had created a new friend! Towards the end of the 3rd trimester Sherry was there for my every concern, she never made me feel bad or silly for calling, even when I thought my water had broken but it hadn't. She was with me at my house on Christmas Eve when we all thought I would go into labor, and back at my house on New Years Eve when we again experienced false labor. When my water ACTUALLY broke labor started immediately. Contractions were long and strong only 45 seconds to a minute apart. I called Sherry she said she was on her way, my husband and I wondered if she would make it to our house in time, we live on the opposite side of the city from Sherry. Things were going super fast and when Sherry walked in the door she was immediately in action, like she had been there from the time my water had broke! It was a good thing too because shortly after arrival it was time to push! Dylan was born in ONLY three pushes and after ONLY 45 minutes of labor. As I held my first son from my first home birth all I could think was perfect, it was all perfect from the baby to the timing, to the experience! Sherry was so gentle and loving to Dylan during his newborn exam, in fact some of my favorite pictures are those of Sherry checking and weighing him. Words will never be able to describe how pleased and satisfied my husband and I are with the services we received from Sherry, but if it is any consolation, when we recently discovered we were pregnant with baby number 5, Sherry was the first person we called! ~Kristina & Paul Sharrer~
